Building the connective tissue of modern software.
I'm Nilansh — a senior engineer shipping plug-and-play integrations, backend platforms, and developer tooling. Currently leading the Integrations initiative at Appsmith, where I cut dev time from 3 months to 1 day and shipped 17+ major integrations in a single month.
Engineer by trade, problem-solver by instinct.
I'm an enthusiastic engineer who loves to code, architect, and innovate. I believe in eradicating the problems of society through technology — and I've spent the last eight years shipping the kind of infrastructure that lets other people do the same.
Today I own the Integrations charter at Appsmith: strategy, architecture, execution, and cross-team coordination. Before that I built the feature-flagging system that every internal team now depends on, sped up a Kubernetes-liveness API by 67%, and led an API team at a fintech through a server-less rewrite.
I care about plug-and-play primitives, decoupled architectures that respect self-hosted users, and the small seconds you can shave off a first-page-load that compound into something that feels effortless.
A timeline of what I've shipped.
Eight years across platform, backend, and integrations — from scrappy startups to open-source at scale.
Senior Software Engineer at Appsmith
- Owned and led the Integrations initiative — strategy, architecture, execution, and cross-team coordination from concept to delivery.
- Re-architected integrations to be plug-and-play and no-code, cutting dev time from 3 months → 1 day
- Shipped 17+ integrations (Slack, Salesforce, GitHub, Zoom, Stripe, Google Workspace) in under a month.
- Enabled AI agents to dynamically use integrations via a unified schema (UQI).
- Built automation tools for generating integration schemas and implemented enterprise-ready proxy architecture.
- Designed a decoupled architecture letting self-hosted users access new integrations without upgrading the Appsmith version.
- Shipped dynamic feature flagging at the plugin level for phased rollouts and custom rate limits tied to business plans.
Platform Engineer at Appsmith
- Improved Tenants API performance by +67% — it lives on the Kubernetes liveness probe, so the wins compounded into FPL and uptime.
- Built the core feature-flagging system now used by every internal team for A/B testing and percentage-based rollouts.
- Worked extensively with New Relic monitoring for API and first-page-load performance.
- Added the email-verification flow to the Appsmith core product.
- Shipped multiple backend features in Reactive Java for the open-source product.
Senior Engineer at Crediwatch
- Led the API team — architecture, code review, and mentorship.
- Designed and shipped on an AWS Lambda server-less architecture.
- Built Python REST APIs and drove MongoDB aggregation + code-complexity reduction.
Software Engineer → Senior SWE at Krunch
- Built backend REST services in Python/Django and async background tasks in Celery.
- Managed AWS EC2 deployments, cronjobs, and production maintenance.
- Created Jenkins CI/CD pipelines with automated deploys + error reporting.
- Wrote scrapers across social platforms and preprocessed data for ML pipelines.
- Participated in hiring, reviewed junior code, and pitched the product to investors.

Built data-extraction pipelines (Scrapy, FB/YouTube/IG/Twitter APIs) piped into Google's NLP engine for sentiment analysis. React + Meteor on the front.
Angular 2 + Firebase aggregator for kids' events, activities, and classes across cities.
Hybrid apps with Angular 2 + Ionic 2 + PhoneGap. Full offline sync via PouchDB.
A few numbers worth remembering.
Tools of the trade.
A mix of daily drivers and well-worn favorites. Highlighted ones are where I go deepest.
